Ms. Frizzle Gets A Press Pass!!

I am super excited!

I was asked to participate in the PBS Teaching & Learning Celebration March 5 & 6 (this weekend!!!). The Celebration has been termed the “world’s fair of education” and has visitors, presenters and speakers that are influential in the education world.

You can find out more about the celebration on the official website. A sample schedule is posted here.

I am super excited about the following presentations:

  • 8:30-9:30 Chris Emdin – a professor of mine whose research focuses on multiculturally relevant science teaching
  • 10:00-11:00 Lisa Henson – of the Henson dynasty, encouraging teachers to create environments where children are encouraged to explore and discover
  • 11:15-12:15 Steve Spangler – science teacher, famous for his educationally rich toy designs
  • 1:00-2:15 Arne Duncan & Richard Riley – two secretaries of state discuss the state of education in America
  • 2:30-3:30 Sid the Science Kid – the makers of my favorite childrens’ television show lead a teacher workshop session

I’ve got to look at the schedule again to see what I want to do in the afternoon section – so many good options!

Stay tuned – I’ll be posting during every presentation!
